Collaboration and networking are essential elements of our work in Homa Bay. Through fostering strong partnership with local and national businesses and organisations, we are able to ensure that our work reaches maximum impact in supporting the local community. We’re always looking for ways to support groups who share our values and vision of a healthy, equal, educated and sustainable society in Homa Bay.

Interested in partnering with us?

We are of the firm belief that we are most successful when we support others who can support us in return. If you are interested in collaborating with ICGN for project delivery, or simply feel that you share our values and would like to get in touch, don’t hesitate to contact us via the email info@icgn.or.ke.

Here are some examples of the types of organisations we are looking to partner with:

Pro-Active Kindergarten and Primary School

This team of dedicated educators work incredibly hard to ensure that their cohort of around 100 children receive the best start to their education.

In the space of four tiny classrooms, over the course of four years, local children will be introduced to not one, but two new languages. Often arriving knowing only Luo – their mother tongue – these children will be introduced to the national language of Kiswahili, and upon leaving they will be able to read and write in English. These skills are essential for a rapidly developing Kenya, and the teachers strain hard everyday to deliver the lessons.

Homa Bay Community Medical Centre

Homa Bay Community Medical Centre is a well-establish clinic offering a wide range of services to the people of Saruyako, Homa Bay.

The main challenges faced by the centre are currently financial, as they often lack funds to be able to buy necessary drugs and equipment. Saruyako is a slum area within Homa Bay Town, and many of the patients who live in this area are unable to afford to pay for treatments. At times Homa Bay Community Medical Centre will endeavour to offer treatments free of charge to those who most need them. But this leaves their staff in a precarious situation, and cannot be sustained forever.

The Gates Academy

The Gates Academy is one of our most successful partners in education, consistently recording the highest results in their local area. Dedicated to providing a ‘gateway’ for rural children to achieve their highest academic potential, The Gates Academy has recently suffered a colossal setback and is in desperate need of assistance.

After being evicted from their premises, the school has lost many children and is struggling to continue with poor facilities and few available funds to pay teachers.
